This morning, in the Council Chamber of the monumental complex of Santa Maria la Nova in Naples, the Director of the Juvenile Penal Institute of Nisida, Gianluca Guida, was awarded the recognition of “Kind Director” as part of the program of initiatives related to the assignment to the Metropolitan City of Naples, representing the Municipalities of the metropolitan area of Naples adhering to the Network of Single Guarantee Committees, and to the Municipalities of Daunia of the title of National Capital of Building Kindness 2024.
In particular, the proclamation of Guida as “Kind Director” took place within the generative workshop of applied kindness, held by the creator of Building Kindness, Luca Nardi, during which participants acquired useful tools to create kind practices to increase the well-being of the community, testing their implementation.
The award was presented to the Director by Renata Monda, President of the Single Guarantee Committee of the Metropolitan City of Naples and Coordinator of the Cug Network, Anna Vitiello, coordinator of the “Building Kindness” Project, and the same Luca Nardi.
“For the commitment and availability shown in the delicate role of daily reception aimed at the re-socialization of the boys”, reads the motivation.
"In a city that in its defensive walls, in history, has created as many as 25 doors to open towards those who are 'other' than us, it is easier to dream of a gentle revolution, in which we learn to take care of each other. Every wall needs openings", said Director Guida during his speech, during which he also stressed how important it is "the reception for boys at risk of deviance, by those who represent the State, from the managers of the structures to the educators, from the pedagogues to all the staff with whom they relate, especially in view of a correct reintegration into society. Listening is essential".
During the meeting, special mentions were also given for their commitment in spreading kind actions to the President of the 'Anti-violence and rights protection center', Angela Losciale, to Anna Cioffi, creator of the 'Gentle itineraries of the Vesuvian lands', and to Maria Manzo, Counselor, coach and expert in Mindfulness.
