Domestic Violence Alert: Naples Man Arrested for Assaulting Wife

In the late afternoon, a woman in a state of great agitation presented herself at the Secondigliano police station, to report that her mother was in danger due to assaults and threats from her father who, at that moment, was attempting to enter their apartment to assault her and was breaking down the front door of the home with an iron bar. The officers, who intervened promptly, immediately noticed that the entrance door to the building's staircase had its glass shattered and that the entrance door to the apartment was severely damaged; once inside the home, the officers found a woman in a state of great agitation, who told them that, just before, she had been threatened with death and assaulted by her husband with an iron bar in his attempt to enter the apartment, adding moreover that the event that had occurred just before was the climax of an argument that had taken place over trivial reasons the previous evening, after which the husband had violently lashed out first against her and then against furniture and household items inside the home. In those moments, the officers noticed an agitated man approaching the woman's home; identified by the latter as her husband, the officers reached him and with some difficulty, they detained him. Therefore, the man, identified as a 48-year-old Neapolitan with a police record, was arrested for domestic abuse; finally, the officers found the iron bar used by the suspect, which was seized.
