Domestic Violence and Legal Intervention in Ariano Irpino

Assault on wife, followed by threats and insults. In one instance, the woman was beaten with a belt and thrown against a wall, sustaining a head injury. The officers of the Ariano Irpino Police Station have executed a restraining order preventing the local man from approaching places frequented by the victim, with the application of an electronic bracelet. It was the judge of the Benevento Court who issued the order, following investigations coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of the Sannio Republic, after the woman filed a complaint. The harassment is said to have begun in 2009. Supporting the victim's account were also some testimonies and other elements collected by the investigators.
