Domestic Violence Escalation Leads to Arrest in Calitri

He threatened his partner and beat up his father who tried to defend the woman, causing him a head injury. A 34-year-old man from Calitri has been arrested by the Carabinieri. The story of abuse comes from Sant'Andrea di Conza. A woman, to escape the threats and violence perpetrated by the man, took refuge with her young children at her in-laws' house. But the 34-year-old, without any remorse, continued to threaten his partner and attacked the father who was defending his daughter-in-law. All this happened in front of the minor children. The 34-year-old is now confined in the prison of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi. He also faced charges for illegal possession of two knives and a utility knife. The elderly father attempted to reason with him, but to no avail. The 34-year-old tried to enter his parent's house to assault his partner. And when the father tried to stop him, the enraged son lashed out at him. He struck him on the head with unprecedented violence. Moments of terror were experienced by the woman and her little ones. It was the family members who alerted the Carabinieri. Two patrols of soldiers from the stations of Calitri and Sant'Andrea di Conza arrived on the scene. Despite the presence of the Carabinieri, the 34-year-old, very agitated, continued to threaten his partner. The soldiers eventually managed to stop him. During the operation, the arrested was found in possession of knives hidden in a backpack and inside his own car. By order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino, the 34-year-old was taken to the prison of Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi.
