Dramatic Car Chase Ends in Arrests in Naples

Officers from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, of the Secondigliano and Poggioreale police stations, during their patrol service intervened in Via dello Zodiaco in the Secondigliano district for the report of a car stolen by two individuals. The police intercepted the reported vehicle but the driver, upon seeing them, accelerated to evade the control until, arriving in Via Dante, after having collided against a parked truck, abandoned the car to continue the escape on foot along with the passenger. The fugitives, in order to gain impunity, did not hesitate to attack and strike two officers who sustained injuries. Shortly after, in Via Improta, the officers noticed the passenger who had taken refuge on the balcony of a house but was reached and, with some difficulty and after a struggle, detained. He is a 28-year-old man from Naples who was arrested for assault, resisting a public official, and improper robbery.
