Dramatic March 8th for a Pregnant Teenager Assaulted by Her Father in Caserta

It was a dramatic March 8th for a 19-year-old from Caserta, six months pregnant: her own father violently beat her, for very trivial reasons, in the presence of her one-year-old daughter and younger sister. Thus, the 19-year-old contacted the emergency number “112” and, with a trembling voice, asked for help from the Carabinieri, reporting the violence suffered and resulting in her father being imprisoned. The operator of the Operational Center of the Carabinieri Company of Caserta immediately sent a patrol from the Operational and Mobile Radio Unit to the reported address; the soldiers found the young woman visibly shaken and frightened, and with her was still the 47-year-old father, intent on inveighing against her. The man, particularly agitated and in an evident state of psychophysical alteration due to alcohol abuse, threatened his daughter with death even in the presence of the carabinieri, who with difficulty managed to calm him down and quell the quarrel. The victim was then assisted by medical personnel from the “118” service, and was taken to the Emergency Room of the Caserta Hospital. The 19-year-old then formalized the complaint against her parent, recounting the violent behavior, never reported, carried out by the father towards all the women of the house, namely towards herself, her younger sister, and her mother.
