Dramatic Rescue on Monte Pizzuto

In the late afternoon of yesterday, around 7 PM, a team of firefighters from the Provincial Command of Caserta, coming from the detachment of Mondragone, intervened on Monte Pizzuto, in the municipality of Mondragone, following a distress call from a man in trouble. The man, residing in Casal di Principe, while he was hiking on the mountain, had lost his bearings and found himself trapped in the vegetation, surrounded by cliffs and rugged areas, for about seven hours. The firefighters, after having geolocated the person in danger, immediately intervened also with the aid of a helicopter, coming from the fire brigade helicopter unit of Pontecagnano (SA), for his recovery. Once aboard the helicopter, the man was transported to the parking area of the Mondragone stadium where the aircraft was able to land safely, assisted on the spot by the Mondragone team, allowing the unfortunate man to return home safe and sound.
