Many meetings have been held by the police of Benevento this month, in primary and secondary schools of the province, based on the schedule wanted by the Chief of Police of Benevento Giovanni Trabunella as part of the projects «Knowing to prevent» on the topic of drugs and other forms of addiction among young people, also in collaboration with experts from the Health Department and Drug Addiction Services, and «Against bullying...together - bully online», on the topic of prevarication and overpowering behaviors among minors mainly in schools. The protagonists of the meetings were students from the middle schools «Federico Torre» and «Giovanni Pascoli» of Benevento, «Ilaria Alpi» of Montesarchio and «Rita Levi Montalcini» of San Giorgio del Sannio and the high schools «Galilei-Vetrone» and «Alberti» of Benevento. The students attended the interventions of the staff serving at the Mobile Squad of the Police Headquarters, of Caterina Martucci, manager responsible for the Environmental Protection Agency and psychologists of the Health Department, who tackled the issue of drugs, each for their own competence profiles, in order to provide the students with useful information on the consequences of drug use.
Further meetings were held at the middle schools «J.F. Kennedy» of Cusano Mutri and «Rita Levi Montalcini» of San Giorgio del Sannio, where police executives deepened the themes of bullying and cyber-bullying, promoting the culture of legality in the prevention of problems related to adolescence, through topics such as respect for rules, correct use of the internet and the spread, among young people, of fundamental values for the growth of citizens of tomorrow. Particularly interesting was the discussion on the topic of legality, which stimulated students to reflect on the value of respecting the rules with the aim of increasing their civic sense and making them understand that only respect for others and observance of the principle of legality allow the exercise of individual freedoms and peaceful coexistence in everyday life.
