Drug Bust in Naples: Police Arrest Two for Illicit Substance Trafficking

Last night, officers from the Decumani Police Station, during the services specifically arranged, while passing through Piazza Bellini, noticed two people, standing near the obelisk, to whom a third person approached and handed them a banknote in exchange for a transparent bag. The police intervened immediately, stopping the suspects, not without difficulty and after a scuffle, finding them in possession of a total of 24 sticks of hashish weighing about 36 grams, 30 bags of marijuana weighing about 37 grams, about 8 grams of cocaine, and 705 euros; the buyer, on the other hand, was found in possession of a dose of marijuana and was therefore administratively sanctioned for possession of drugs for personal use. For these reasons, two Gambians, 26 and 29 years old with various aliases and previous police records, were arrested for illegal possession and distribution of drugs and for resisting a Public Officer.
