Drug Trafficking Crackdown Leads to Arrest in San Nicola la Strada

The police, as part of the services to counteract the phenomenon of drug trafficking, arrested a 54-year-old man of Gambian origin at the 'roundabout' of San Nicola la Strada. The 'Falchi' of the Mobile Squad of the Caserta Police Station, while patrolling the area, observed the suspicious movements of a man who, when approached by a buyer, was seen handing over a small bag of hashish. The immigrant, once reached, tried to break free and flee, cursing and pushing the police officers, who managed to stop him and, with the help of a patrol car, take him to the Police Station. Upon searching him, he was found in possession of more drugs and cash in small denominations, proceeds from drug sales. The man was arrested for drug trafficking and resistance and taken to the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere to be subjected to immediate trial. The Gambian was sentenced to a mandatory residence order in the municipality of San Nicola la Strada and to report three times a week to the judicial police.
