Dual funding for the Municipality of Cicciano is on its way from the Campania Region.
The first concerns the public notice for the realization of projects aimed at promoting health prevention through sports, the redevelopment and technological and infrastructural improvement of sports facilities.
The entity of Corso Garibaldi, led by Mayor Giuseppe Caccavale, which participated with the Polifunctional Center “Costanzo e Chiara” will receive a contribution of about 1.4 million euros for the redevelopment of the Gescal sports center in Cicciano where initially the new municipal market had been planned. In the redeveloped area, which will be fenced and under video surveillance, there will be an 8-a-side football field, a 5-a-side football field, a multipurpose field, an indoor gym with changing rooms, and an outdoor gym with a parking area.
In the second funding for the public notice in favor of local entities for the safety assessment of school buildings, more than 180,000 euros in total for schools will come from the Campania Region: the primary “Giovanni Bovio” (about 70,000 euros), the kindergarten and primary “Pontillo-Castoria” (about 57,000 euros) and the secondary “Giovanni Pascoli” (about 55,000 euros). A total of 1.5 million euros.
“Hard work pays off in the long run: we are satisfied with these funds that can improve the quality of existing facilities and the quality of life for our residents. The choice to relocate the new municipal market was also contingent on the approval of this project and in any case, we did not want to lose the existing sports facilities in that area for which the municipality had invested resources,” says the sports delegate councilor Salvatore Santoriello who followed and strongly wanted this project.
