«A Summer at BelvedeRe 2024» is enriched with a new event. Friday, July 19, at 9 p.m., Eduardo De Crescenzo presents at the Belvedere of San Leucio, «It happened in Naples, passion for voice and piano». The Neapolitan singer-songwriter will bring his refined concert to the IX edition of the festival, directed by Massimo Vecchione and organized by Lwr S.r.l. with the artistic supervision of Vincenzo Berti and Gianluca Bonanno for Ventidieci, in partnership with the Municipality of Caserta.
«It happened in Naples, passion for voice and piano» is the tribute that Eduardo De Crescenzo, in the fullness of his expressive maturity, wanted to pay to his city and its cultural roots. Accompanied on the piano by Julian Oliver Mazzariello, an Anglo-Italian musician among the most enchanting and ingenious pianists who have appeared on the music scene in recent years, De Crescenzo reinterprets the classic Neapolitan song from its beginnings, around 1800, until 1950, when, with the landing of the American allies, jazz will arrive in Italy. A musical genre that penetrates pure Italian melody - a fundamental stylistic feature of the Neapolitan song - changing it forever. To introduce the listening of the songs, will be the journalist and music critic Federico Vacalebre, author of the book «Stories of the Neapolitan Songbook».
Like in a time machine, Eduardo De Crescenzo and Julian Oliver Mazzariello travel in search of the lost sound and transport the listener into the cultural or noble salons of the time, where usually a singer and a pianist performed these songs for a privileged audience.
Tickets to attend «It happened in Naples, passion for voice and piano» at the Belvedere of San Leucio, are already on sale on the Ticketone and Go2 circuits and in the main regional outlets.
The show by Eduardo De Crescenzo is added to the program of the ninth edition of the festival «A Summer at BelvedeRe» which this year will be held in two venues, both declared by Unesco as World Heritage. In addition to the classic location of the Belvedere of San Leucio, in fact, there will also be events in Piazza Carlo di Borbone, in the suggestive setting of the Royal Palace of Caserta.
Already announced Giovanni Allevi (June 13), Nayt (June 18), Paolo Crepet in “Take the Moon” (June 27), Fulminacci (July 20) and Nick Mason (July 23) for Belvedere Session. While, Il Volo (September 8) and Gigi D’Alessio (6, 7, 8, 14 and 15 September) will be the protagonists of Reggia Session. New guests will be announced in the coming days.
