The initiatives of the Naples prefecture continue to ensure adequate reception conditions for asylum-seeking migrants who periodically arrive in the provincial territory, also promoting - through various ongoing projects - their socio-occupational integration. From the perspective of initial reception, 68 adult migrants, predominantly Bengali and Syrian, and two unaccompanied foreign minors of Egyptian nationality have recently been welcomed in the Campania facilities. Specifically regarding foreign minors, characterized by particular vulnerability, a working group has been initiated with the competent judicial offices and the Municipality of Naples to further improve the reception system and thus guarantee an ever higher level of protection, with particular attention to unaccompanied minors. Training courses have been activated, dedicated to learning the Italian language as well as acquiring skills in the tourism sector, for 40 unaccompanied foreign minors hosted at the Reception Center for minors located in the municipality of Marano di Napoli. Particular attention has been paid to strengthening the monitoring and control system of the Reception Centers and the services provided by the managing entities, with the support of law enforcement, local health authorities, firefighters, and prefectural inspection units. In recent months, there has been a significant increase in inspection visits and sanctioning activities. Among the various projects underway to promote the socio-occupational integration of migrants legally present in the territory, the recent initiative aimed at providing specific training for the prevention of labor exploitation and illegal hiring practices is noteworthy. This training activity will be conducted by officials from the International Organization for Migration and the Territorial Labor Inspectorate at the extraordinary reception centers of this metropolitan area. Furthermore, the second session of the training course for construction workers will start shortly, as part of the project promoted by the prefecture in collaboration with Acen and Formedil, an association for training in the construction sector, aimed at on-the-job training of migrants hosted by the Reception Centers.
