Eighth appointment for the 2023-2024 theatre season of the Teatro Cilea with the show titled «O... Tello O... I» written, directed and performed by Francesco Paolantoni. On stage Stefano Sarcinelli, Felicia del Prete, Raffaele Esposito, Arduino Speranza and Simona Barattolo. The work will be on stage from February 29 to March 3 and subsequently from March 5 to 10.

I' I return to the stage with a very good company with which we do comedy of art and it is wonderful to do it in the city that invented it. A dramatic evening, a show that with a writing inspired by the comedy of art, at a fast pace, and with the mechanism of "theatre in the theatre" tells the misadventures of an amateur company (all always rigorously on stage) that in the first act is intent on rehearsing a show that will debut the next evening. The text chosen by the director, a bit to distance himself from the classic Eduardo repertoire of amateur companies, a bit because he wants to tackle the theme of jealousy, a feeling that usually tends to ruin relationships is: Othello.
The first act develops between the attempt to rehearse the show, the delirious interpersonal discussions between the various actors, the psychological dissertations on relationships and the despair at the news that the actor who was supposed to play the protagonist will not come anymore. The only solution is for the director himself to play Othello, without however knowing the part.
In the second act, with the stage divided in two, on one side the show in progress and on the other the dressing rooms, you will simultaneously and simultaneously witness both the merciless staging of Othello (with an inevitable different ending that Shakespeare would never have imagined) and the strange events of the actors faced in the dressing rooms.
