Elderly Couple Rescued After Nighttime Fall in Montemarano

At the first light of dawn, the Carabinieri of the Montemarano Station intervened in the locality of “Musanni” to assist an elderly couple in distress. The woman had left the house during the night and, following a fall, was unable to get up. The husband, in an attempt to reach their daughter's house to ask for help, also fell on muddy ground, becoming stuck. After locating the couple, the Carabinieri coordinated the rescue operations together with the “118” emergency service personnel. Both elderly, suffering from hypothermic shock due to the low night temperatures, were transported to the Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi hospital.
