Elderly Woman dies from Severe Burns caused by House Fire

An elderly lady died as a result of severe burns caused by a fire that broke out in her home in San Nicola la Strada, in the Caserta area. Initial investigations carried out by the Caserta firefighters suggest that the woman was hit by a backdraft caused by a gas leak from the stove she used for heating. When the firefighters arrived, the woman had burns on almost her entire body. The firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the entire apartment and promptly took the woman to the hospital, where she died shortly afterwards due to the severe injuries.
