Enhanced Security Measures to Combat Predatory Crimes in the Province

In line with what has been established by the Prefecture in the provincial committee for public order and safety, the activities deployed in the province to counteract predatory crimes through targeted prevention and control services do not stop. This week, on the 6th and 7th of March, numerous teams of the State Police were deployed in the Sannio areas, in particular to combat burglaries in homes. The patrols from the office of general prevention and public assistance of the Telese Terme police station and the crime prevention units of Campania, have deployed dynamic patrols and fixed checkpoints in San Giorgio del Sannio, San Nicola Manfredi, Sant'Angelo a Cupolo, Puglianello, San Lorenzello, Castelvenere, and Amorosi, ensuring the intensification of surveillance in urban areas, peripheral zones deemed to be at higher risk, and along the main arteries often used by criminals from neighboring provinces. Controls were also intensified at commercial areas, public establishments, and city zones more frequented or used as drug trafficking spots. Over the course of the services, more than 320 people were identified, of whom 40 had criminal records, 180 vehicles were checked, and 25 people were subjected to personal freedom restrictive measures. During the checks, furthermore, one person was penalized for driving without a license, resulting in the administrative detention of the vehicle. In the coming days, the controls by the officers will involve other centers of the province in order to continue, in synergy and coordination with the other police forces, the action to combat widespread crime.
