Environmental Crime Uncovered: Illegal Waste Dump Found

The forest rangers of Formicola, during a patrol of the right orographic bank area of the Volturno river as part of the "Safe River" control campaign, in Castel Campagnano, at the location "Marrochelle", in a disused quarry noticed the presence of a large quantity of waste composed of non-reclaimed inert materials and earth and rocks from excavation containing various plastic materials, estimated at about 500 square meters. The various piles of waste were stored near the bank of an artificial pond. Subsequent investigations traced the origin of the waste to a construction company. Since no authorization had been produced for the storage of said waste, the military proceeded with the precautionary seizure of the same and reported the legal representative of the construction company and the conductor of the area involved in this illegal activity of illicit management of special waste.
