Establishment of the Legality, Transparency, and Supervision Committee for the Volturno Basin General Reclamation Consortium

The committee for legality, transparency, and supervision of the General Consortium for the Reclamation of the lower Volturno basin has been established, consisting of three members and chaired by Natale Argirò, formerly a police commissioner in Benevento, Reggio Emilia, and Trieste. The committee assists the consortium's administration by defining the guidelines and management of the main corporate risks and participates in the drafting of the Three-Year Anti-Corruption Plan; it also verifies the fulfillment of all legal obligations in terms of corruption prevention and publicity of acts and, on the occasion of the approval of the budget, prepares a report on the activities carried out. 'I strongly wanted - said the consortium's commissioner Francesco Todisco - the establishment of this committee, in order to strengthen the prevention of attempts of infiltration by organized crime, either directly or through controlled companies and firms. This is especially considering the substantial resources assigned to our general reclamation consortium of the Lower Volturno Basin for the works we are carrying out.' In addition to Argirò, the other two effective members are Giuliano Agliata, a lawyer, consultant to several Public Prosecutors' Offices in criminal trials concerning contracts and supplies, and Vincenzo Valletta, former head of control office of the Provincial Directorate of Revenue of Caserta and member of the sector studies observatory.
