Exploring Trust and Legal Institutions: A Seminar Overview

A detailed analysis of trust and legal institutions such as the family fund and fiduciary trust was carried out during a study seminar promoted by the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of North Naples of Aversa, chaired by Francesco Matacena. The event allowed to 'explore' the opportunities offered. Particular attention was dedicated to fiduciary trust, with a reflection on its functional profiles and its relationship with destination transactions and trust. This comparison - Matacena highlighted - between notarial practice and academic insights led to a more articulated understanding of a crucial aspect of property law, thus contributing to outline a more complete and clear picture of the current legal landscape in terms of trust and related institutions. Maria Antonia Ciocia (director of the Department of Economics at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli), emphasized the interest of professionals on such a complex topic. This is a positive sign that shows how much the accountants of the North Naples Order are up to date with changes in economic dynamics, not only locally but also internationally. Alessandro De Donato, president of the Notarial Council of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, stressed the importance of collaboration between professionals: "The core message we want to convey is the ability to work synergistically. Discussing trust means not only analyzing asset management but also understanding its relevance in terms of both direct and indirect taxes." According to Tina Bove (delegated councilor of the Odcec Napoli Nord) "although trust is a 'niche' topic, it is at the same time broad and requires a clear definition." The goal is to extend awareness on this topic within our category and to collaborate with other professional orders. Further events are planned to explore the details and most suitable solutions. The debate, introduced by Diego Musto (vice president of the chartered accountants and accounting experts of North Naples), was moderated by Giuseppe Approvato (president of the Trust Commission). The trust is not exclusively a tool for large enterprises, but can also be used by small businesses and individuals. It is important to emphasize that any private individual, regardless of the size of their assets, can benefit from trust.
