Fabio Cannavaro was a guest on the program "Legends See You in Naples" on Sportitalia, hosted by journalist Jolanda De Rienzo, along with the other two former blues Sandro Renica and Raffaele Di Fusco. The captain of the World Champion Italy team spoke about the lack of a call from De Laurentiis to lead the blues.
"I believe that the absence of my name among the 50 candidates considered by De Laurentiis for the Napoli bench after Garcia is not a matter of experience. The problem with Napoli this year is that it has changed too many coaches, and the players have had to assimilate too many different concepts. It's understandable that there would be some confusion. With Atalanta, it's the last chance for Champions League. My future? Many people do not respect the experience I had in China. But I am a coach and I want to coach. Even today, two years after my return to Italy, I continue to study and update myself because I know this is what I want to do."
And finally, on the Centro Paradiso project: "The idea came to me a few years ago and I have quietly carried it forward. It is a facility that must stand for a hundred years and not close down. I would like to make it the youth sector of a football school or academy with the goal of bringing as many children as possible to that place."
