Family Abuse and Protective Measures in Benevento

Violence and even death threats, every day since 2013, when it was discovered that their second child had a severe form of autism with language difficulties. Harassment, especially psychological, but also offensive, derogatory, and threatening attitudes towards cohabitants, even going as far as to damage the child's toys. For all this, the Prosecutor's Office of Benevento has executed an order for the application of the precautionary measure of the prohibition of approaching a man seriously suspected of family abuse against his wife and children. The investigations started after the wife's complaint on February 21st. The woman reported that the harassment had started in 2013, shortly after the discovery of the second child's condition. In December 2023, the woman also fell victim to a physical assault by the man who grabbed her by the throat: the elder son defended her and freed her. Suspecting that his wife wanted to ask for separation, the man began to threaten her even more severely. Hence the complaint and all the testimonies that confirmed the victim's stories, such as the reports from the anti-violence center.
