In Campania, farmers are allowed to shoot wild boars that enter their lands. This was communicated by Coldiretti at the end of a technical meeting with the Campania Region's agriculture councilor Nicola Caputo, hosted at the association's regional headquarters: "Pending a regional law that definitively clarifies the matter, farmers can continue to refer to resolution 590 of 2023 according to which farmers can directly cull wild boars on the lands they own if they have the authorization." The authorization can be obtained by holders of a valid hunting rifle license and insurance coverage, qualified for selective boar hunting within the hunting territorial area (Atc) where the authorization is requested. "Other cases of intervention to reduce the population," writes Coldiretti, "are those provided by the Extraordinary Plan for the capture, culling, and disposal of wild boars in force with resolution no. 84 of February 22, 2024. The culling can be carried out by qualified selective hunters registered in the national list of bioregulators."
