They had just burgled an apartment in Casalnuovo. The carabinieri from the operational section of Castello di Cisterna identified their car immediately after.
They were in a Fiat Bravo and, when they realized they had been discovered, they fled. The chase lasted until Casoria. The three braked and stopped the car and for a moment the military thought they wanted to surrender.
Then the Bravo restarted in reverse. The three violently hit the patrol then fled on foot. The carabinieri, even though shaken by the impact, ran after them. Two were blocked, one managed to escape.
In their car, the loot plundered from the home of a 33-year-old woman from Casalnuovo: jewelry, watches and various trinkets. Father and son, 52 and 30 years old, were handcuffed.
Both already known to the police, they were arrested for burglary, damage and resistance to a public official. They are now in jail, waiting for trial. Investigations continue to identify and locate the escaped accomplice.
