Father and Son - Chasing Chet Baker: A Fusion of Music and Reading

Historical truth and fiction, a kind of extreme flashback, articulated according to a sequence of memories. 'Father and Son – chasing Chet Baker' is the show between music and reading scheduled for Sunday, April 21st, at 11 a.m. at Villa Pignatelli as part of the proposals by the Associazione Scarlatti for 'A Sunday with Music'. Born in 2021 in theatrical form for the Campania Teatro Festival on an original subject by Stefano Valanzuolo, 'Father and Son' is performed by Antonello Cossia (narrating voice), Francesco Scelzo (guitar), and Enrico Valanzuolo (trumpet), and celebrates the most romantic among the trumpet heroes. It does so not by morbidly snooping through drug facts and misdeeds, but by discreetly chasing the relationship - real or fake, it doesn't matter - of a fragile and genius father with his son. A relationship made of misunderstanding and fear, but also of infinite love for life and for music. Which for some, after all, are the same thing. Throughout the theatrical event, the narrating voice intertwines with the notes of many classics belonged to Chet Baker (My Funny Valentine, Let's Get Lost, Don't Explain, I Fall in Love Too Easily, Arrivederci, Estate...) rearranged and performed, respectfully and in an instrumental duo version.
