Fear and Chaos in Naples: Fire Breaks Out in Riviera di Chiaia

Fear and chaos this morning at the Riviera di Chiaia where a local business - a mechanical workshop - caught fire for reasons yet to be determined. On the scene were the firefighters. Traffic was blocked in the area. Several witnesses documented the incident and reported it to the deputy of the Greens-left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who was also informed of another fire that occurred for still unclear reasons during the night at via Caracciolo in a basement of a building. The residents were evacuated and, thanks to the owner of Bar Napoli, which is located a short distance away, they were hosted and refreshed in the lounge of the bar until they could return to their homes in the morning. "We are gathering information on the facts to understand what happened. We are very concerned about the increasing number of fires, sometimes generated by carelessness, other times by reckless behavior, and also by the lack of controls and safety devices," commented Borrelli.
