Final Verdict on the Murder of Antonio Bottone: A Camorra Tragedy

There are no longer any doubts about the identity of the murderer of Antonio Bottone, the twenty-year-old innocent victim of the Camorra, shot to death in an ambush in front of a croissanterie in Naples, on the evening of November 6, 2016: it is declared by the first section of the Court of Cassation which has annulled - but only in relation to the aggravating circumstance of premeditation - the sentence with which the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Naples sentenced the killer Enrico La Salvia to life imprisonment, considered by the Dda to belong to the Sequino clan of the Sanità district.

The supreme court has annulled the sentence appealed by the defendant "specifically regarding the aggravating circumstance of premeditation" (which will now have to be evaluated by a different section of the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Naples from the first), rejected the rest of the appeal but, above all, declared "irrevocable" the sentence in relation to "the judgment of responsibility".

"Another innocent victim of the Camorra is added to the list, - comments the lawyer Sergio Pisani, legal representative of the victim's family - we at least have the consolation that his murderer has been brought to justice. Antonio can now rest in peace".
