First Inter-Municipal Civil Protection Center Activated in Sannio

The inter-municipal Civil Protection headquarters of San Leucio del Sannio-Apollosa-Arpaise-Ceppaloni is now a reality. This is the first logistic coordination center of Civil Protection activated in Sannio. The operational headquarters is located in Vardaro, San Leucio, in the premises of the former school building. The municipal administration, led by Mayor Nascenzio Iannace, has carried out the functional recovery of the structure. Among the many services provided, the direction and coordination of rescue and assistance services to the population; precise monitoring and related reports to the competent authorities about the evolution of calamitous events and needs; the concurrent coordination of the interventions of the operational teams and volunteers. Moreover, providing information to the population with absolute reliability, officiality, and promptness is of fundamental importance. The collective participation in the inauguration event, with the prologue of the mass officiated by the parish priest of San Leucio, Don Michele Villani, who then imparted the ritual blessing to the logistic headquarters. At the inaugural symposium, coordinated by journalist Michele Di Maina, institutional, religious, and military authorities were present. In addition to Iannace, the mayors of Apollosa, Arpaise, and Ceppaloni, respectively Danilo Parente, Enzo Forni Rossi, and Claudio Cataudo; the municipal councilor of San Leucio del Sannio delegated to Civil Protection, Giovanni Varricchio; the head of the municipal technical office of San Leucio del Sannio, Stanislao Giardiello; the coordinator of the Operational Plan, Pasquale Fiore; and the president of the Civil Protection of Benevento, Aniello Petito. Also present were the municipal councilors delegated to Civil Protection of Apollosa, Vincenzo Maio, of Arpaise, Amato Iuliano, and of Ceppaloni, Saverio Porcaro. "We are very satisfied, proud, and honored to have made this inter-municipal civil protection outpost operational, the first of its kind in the provincial territory," said Iannace. "Thus, the logistic structure that will allow us to face with maximum efficacy and efficiency any emergencies, obviously not desirable but unfortunately always possible, becomes fully operational." For Varricchio, it is "a most precious service for the communities of San Leucio del Sannio and the entire district.
