Irregularities in the public competition and corrupt agreements for a large industrial area: the former mayor of Cicciano, Giovanni Corrado, in office until last year, has also been arrested. The Carabinieri of the Nola Company executed an order for the application of personal precautionary measure, issued by the judge of the Nola Court at the request of the Nola Prosecutor's Office against four suspects (1 in prison, 2 under house arrest, 1 banned from residing in the Campania Region), accused, in competition, of undue inducement to give or promise benefits and receiving stolen goods.
The investigations, conducted by the N.O.R. of the Nola Company from August 2022 to June 2023, with the support of the Cicciano Station, stemmed from some irregularities detected in a public competition held in the municipality of Cicciano and allowed - it is learned - to ascertain responsibility profiles in relation to a corrupt agreement aimed at improperly obtaining a building permit, concerning a large industrial area of Cicciano.
Among the people involved are the former Mayor Corrado (currently under house arrest for another cause), two current municipal councilors and an entrepreneur. In September, the same former mayor Corrado was involved in an investigation for corruption, extortion and forgery in public act together with a municipal official, an entrepreneur and an external collaborator of the local authority. This morning an execution was given to a search and seizure order against a construction entrepreneur, investigated at large.
