The founding fathers of computer science will arrive in Naples for the Eacsl2024 event (annual conference of the European Association for Computer Science Logic), one of the most important conferences in the world, which will be held from February 20 to 23, 2024, at the conference center of the University of Naples Federico II. For the first time together, the most cited names in the scientific community: Moshe Y. Vardi, Georg Gotlob, Marta Kwiatkowska, followed by Barbara König and Balder ten Cate. They will be the internationally renowned speakers, the stars of the event.
Their scientific contributions have been fundamental to the birth of modern computer science. They applied the symbolism of logic to computer science, through mathematical formulas. Any program today, thanks to these scientific contributions, translates into a mathematical formula.
The rector Matteo Lorito and Prof. Aniello Murano of the dieti department of the University of Naples, Federico II: will be hosting the event. «I am truly honored - declared Prof. Murano - to have been given the task of organizing the Csl 2024 conference together with Prof. Alexandra Silva. Numbers are and will be the protagonists. Registrations by researchers and students for the event, were almost immediately sold out. 60 papers by researchers from 35 different nations will be presented».
Csl 2024 will be held in conjunction with the 12th international workshop on fixed points in computer science (Fics 24) which will be held on February 19 and 20. This will be followed by the mentoring workshop on logic (Lmw 24) which will be held on February 23. On that same date, an absolute novelty is announced: for the first time at an academic conference, renowned researchers, companies and students will meet to speak a single language: that of research and development and work opportunities.
