The exhibition "From Darkness to Light" will be inaugurated in Naples, at the Foqus Portacarrese Gallery, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 5:30 PM. This event is dedicated to the "Generation 4C" project, realized by the Cave Canem Foundation to prevent and combat youth unemployment and the mistreatment of animals. The initiative has been curated by the 36 young beneficiaries of the project: boys and girls from 17 to 25 years old, and it will be them to accompany guests and visitors during the stages of the event. An exhibition of black and white and color photographs that respectively tell the miserable conditions of dogs victims of mistreatment and forced to live in kennels, and then the rediscovered balance and adoption. Through the photographs of the most significant moments, the professionalization journey of the young beneficiaries of the project will be narrated. There will also be two installations of "Interactive Art" so that visitors can express their emotions in an immediate and spontaneous way, contributing to the creation of a work of art. The central part of the event will be dedicated to a panel of professionals committed to the protection of animals and the education of new generations and to the preview projection of the two institutional videos that tell the activities. "Naples has welcomed with enthusiasm and participation the project and its activities," says Lawyer Federica Faiella, a native of Naples and President of the Cave Canem Foundation, "we are writing stories of friendship and solidarity between young people and abandoned dogs. Generation 4C is proving to be a forge of opportunities: there are boys and girls engaged in communication activities useful to raise awareness on the issue of animal protection, boys and girls who take the field to help dogs in difficulty or living on the street." All this was possible thanks to the virtuous circle activated among subjects engaged in the Campania capital and beyond: the Holding Petrone Group and Fondazione Azimut as financing bodies, Foqus Foundation Quartieri Spagnoli, the online magazine Kodami (editorial project of Ciaopeople), the Carabinieri Forestali, the Office of Social Services for Minors of Naples, the Naples Secondigliano Penitentiary, the Gentileschi Higher Institute, Lions Club Naples Lamont Young, Ferrarelle Società Benefit, the Naples Bar Association. The project, which began in October 2023, has allowed to involve 25 high school students in a path for transversal skills and orientation, 15 people detained in prison in treatment activities, 9 young offenders in probationary paths, 5 young women beneficiaries of a work scholarship, 440 abandoned dogs.
