Fugitive Captured in Mother's Attic After Evading Arrest in Lombardy

When in November last year, after a request for a harsher sentence for violating a restraining order against his ex-partner (issued after abuses), the court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere issued a precautionary custody order in jail against the 34-year-old, the man had already been subjected to a ban on residing in the Campania region. Then, having moved to Lombardy, in December of the same year he escaped capture and was thus declared a fugitive by the fifth penal section of the Court of Appeal of Naples. The investigations, carried out by the Carabinieri of the territorial unit of Mondragone, coordinated by the Prosecutor's office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, however, put an end to his flight in the late afternoon of yesterday. The fugitive was tracked down and captured in Mondragone, during the raid that the Carabinieri executed at the house occupied by his elderly mother. He had hidden in the attic, sure he would not be found. The military police took him to the station where, after the usual formalities, they transferred him to the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
