Geolier Responds to Controversy Over His Win at Sanremo Festival

"Don't you feel uncomfortable for having somewhat stolen last night's victory given the other performances?" This was the question posed to Geolier at a press conference today in Sanremo, following the duets evening - won by the Neapolitan singer together with Luchè, Guè and Gigi D'Alessio - and in anticipation of tonight, when the final of the 7th edition of the Festival will take place at the Ariston. A question that left even the other journalists in the press room speechless but to which Geolier was able to respond without batting an eye: "Actually, I feel uncomfortable having to answer this question" explained the 23-year-old from Secondigliano, also applauded by those present. The duet evening gave rise to several criticisms of Geolier, who finished ahead of everyone but especially Angelina Mango, the expected winner. "It's exaggerated, I have fun making music and doing what I love. I'm happy. Yesterday rap won. On stage I felt next to people much older than me: Guè and Luchè have made the history of rap, then Gigi D'Alessio... I represent the Naples of the boys who want to make it. There is the beautiful Naples and the ugly Naples like in every city. I started from Secondigliano, I started from the neighborhood and my perspective has never changed. To the boys I say that they must demand the future that is due to them: I packed my bags from Secondigliano and arrived in Sanremo. Nobody gives you anything" the artist explained in a press conference.
