Giada D’Antonio of the Vesuvio Ski Club has won the Pietro Minopoli Trophy for the third consecutive year, recording the best overall time in the slalom event that took place on Sunday at Aremogna.
The race, organized by the 3punto3 ski club and Vesuvio, was up for grabs for the seventh year the Challenge named after a young skier who tragically passed away early. The Black Panther has already won it in 2022 and 2023 and thus takes it home permanently.
“Next year we will be putting up a new Trophy,” said Antonio Barulli, president of the 3Punto3 ski club and the Campania-Puglia Committee, upon awarding her the prize.
This year, due to difficult weather conditions, the prestigious cup was awarded at the end of a slalom race instead of - as per tradition - a Giant Slalom, but the gap of 3 seconds and 67/100 with which D’Antonio finished the race was truly enormous.
The slalom was also valid for the awarding of regional titles and Giada D'Antonio was crowned Champion of the CAM PUG Committee in the women's category, while in the men's category Stefano Brancaccio of the SAI won.
Regional champions of the Boys under 14 category for 2024 are Sofia de Nunzio of the Napoli ski club and Giovanni Rossiello of SAI Napoli and among the aspirants, Giuliana Ferrara of the sc Aremogna and Edoardo Romano of the Vesuvio ski club won.
The regional Giant Slalom championship has been postponed to a date to be defined.
