Governing the Economy: A Call for Solidarity and Perspective

The lack of prospects and solidarity is the greatest defeat a people can face. It is up to us to keep the promise we made with the Constitution: to grow as a community through work and support for the full development of every individual, starting with the last and the most fragile. Only if no one is left behind, can everyone's gaze turn forward. This reflection, reported on the back cover of the volume by the economist Pasquale Tridico, 'Governing the Economy. To not be governed by the markets', is the leitmotif of the essay that will be presented on March 12, 2024, at 3:30 pm, in the Aula Pessina of the Department of Law of the University of Naples Federico II. After the greetings from the Rector of the Federico II University, Matteo Lorito, the proceedings will be introduced by the Director of the Department of Law, Sandro Staiano. A report by Pasquale Tridico will follow. Moderated by the journalist Lucia Annunziata, a discussion on the theme: 'The economy of the South between development and legality' will then open, with interventions by Stefania Brancaccio, entrepreneur and Vice President of UCID, Nicola Gratteri, Public Prosecutor at the Court of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples, Cristina Mele, economist, Christian Montella, member of the University Student Council and Vice President of the US.
