A meeting was held at the Government Palace, convened by the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, to examine the initiatives undertaken by the Municipality of Naples to “reduce the risk of road accidents within the territorial jurisdiction”.
Senior managers from the Area Traffic and Public Transport and the Road Accident Department of the Municipality of Naples, representatives of the Road Police and the Carabinieri, as well as representatives of the Municipal Police of Naples, took part in the meeting. The Municipality of Naples has announced that it is in the process of adopting a detailed program of short, medium and long term interventions to be implemented on the Neapolitan road network, which involves 400 roads for a total of 300 kilometers of travel.
Among other things, the restoration of road signs, public lighting systems, the pruning of trees that obstruct vision and the reconstruction of pedestrian crossings are planned. It was also agreed - it is written in a note - on the need to continue the dissemination activity started by the police and local police, in order to raise awareness among pedestrians and drivers to adopt prudent behaviors.
