Gunshots were fired on Thursday night at a car and scooter rental dealership on Filichito Street in Casalnuovo.
The owner, who upon his arrival on the morning of Friday, February 16, found several bullet holes in the shutter and some shells left on the ground, filed a complaint about the incident and sent the video taken by surveillance cameras to the police and Deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
In the images, a white car is seen from which two subjects armed with a gun get out and start shooting at the dealership and the cars parked in the courtyard before fleeing.
"A serious act that follows other similar episodes that have occurred recently in Casalnuovo. For years in this territory, there has not been such a significant number of intimidating raids with firearms. A worrying resurgence that pushes us to renew the request for a greater presence of law enforcement, especially at night, in the most at-risk neighborhoods of the city. At the same time, we invite citizens to cooperate with the police, even anonymously, to help us eradicate the presence of criminals from Casalnuovo. To the merchant who had the courage to immediately report the episode, we express our solidarity and will continue to follow the case until the perpetrators of this criminal and cowardly act are identified and captured." "We have already experienced episodes of this kind in the past," declared Emilio Ilardi, the victim of the intimidation, "but we have always reported them and I am confident that the investigators will soon be able to capture these criminals. I was also robbed outside my home a while ago where some criminals pointed a gun at me even though I was in the car with my children; all to take my watch. In Casalnuovo, petty crime is rampant, too many street criminals who are ready to shoot for a few coins. We are tired of this situation, but that does not mean we will close our shops. They will not win."
