High-Impact Operation in Castel Volturno: Police Crackdown Leads to Multiple Arrests and Fines

A "high-impact" operation was carried out in the territory of the municipality of Castel Volturno, decided during a technical coordination meeting held at the Prefecture of Caserta. Approximately 40 units were employed, including police, carabinieri, finance police, and personnel from the municipal police of Castel Volturno and the local health authority (Asl), which allowed for the control of over 500 people, numerous searches, and reports. Furthermore, 80 people subjected to preventive, cautionary, and security measures were checked. During the checks, the State Police reported 10 individuals for various crimes, including violation of the preventive measure of the expulsion order, threats, and driving without a license. The services arranged for "high-impact" activities allowed the mobile squad of Caserta and the public security police station of Castel Volturno to arrest 5 people, one of whom for drug trafficking and another for domestic abuse, following a judicial authority's order. Another three individuals were traced as they were wanted to serve prison sentences for committing property crimes, including numerous home burglaries across the national territory. The arrested were taken to prison in Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Poggioreale in Naples. With the contribution of the municipal police and the local health authority personnel, administrative police checks were also carried out by the Castel Volturno police station, which led to the fining of 5 commercial establishments for various irregularities, amounting to about 12 thousand euros in fines. In two activities, 223 kilograms of fish were seized due to lack of traceability of origin and poor hygienic storage conditions. In two food stores, portions of illegally constructed works were seized, and the owners were reported for building abuse. A proceeding for the revocation of a betting collection activity license was notified, and the preventive measure of the "expulsion order" from the municipality of Castel Volturno was imposed on 10 people, checked on the street and found to have numerous precedents.
