Usury at extremely high interest rates, sometimes up to 240%. This is the accusation that led to a precautionary measure being executed by the carabinieri of the San Vitaliano Station, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Nola, issued by the Gip of Nola.
The investigations conducted by the carabinieri and directed by the Prosecutor's Office started from a complaint filed by one of the victims, in Scisciano, who, also thanks to the support of a volunteer association, had turned to the carabinieri reporting being a victim of usury.
The suspect had already been arrested last October, after large sums of money and the "ledger" with the accounting of the usurious activity had been found in his home, with a record of the victims' names and, in the margin, the sums of money owed.
Among the actions contested to the suspect, there is also the extortion to obtain the payment of the interest installments, forcing the victims to live under the pressure of attitudes often resulting in real threats of serious repercussions to the person or property.
Today's execution refers to the extension of the precautionary title of the precautionary measure in prison issued following a detailed investigation that allowed to ascertain facts occurred in a period between March 2021 and October 2023.
The arrested, who was already associated with the "G. Salvia- Poggioreale" prison in Naples, as a result of the new order will also have to answer in relation to the further facts emerged.
