High-Speed Chase Ends with Drug and Weapons Toss from Window

They were traveling in a Fiat Panda at high speed and during an overtaking maneuver, the two individuals, the other day, in the late afternoon, evaded a Carabinieri checkpoint on the Statale Appia km 196+200 in the municipality of Vitulazio, heading towards Capua. The Carabinieri quickly got back in their car and started to follow the two who, seeing themselves pursued, threw a bag out of the window, an action to get rid of incriminating material in case of capture. A mad dash with dangerous overtaking between cars and heavy vehicles that normally travel on the Appia allowed the two aboard the Panda to lose their pursuers. The bag recovered and seized by the Carabinieri was found to contain 6 blocks of Hashish weighing a total of 600 grams, a cellophane wrapper containing 10 grams of cocaine, as well as 6 mobile phones, two brass knuckles, a folding knife, and a precision scale.
