High tension in the Carinola prison, after a fruitful search by the Penitentiary Police led to the discovery of cell phones and drugs in the cells. «Yesterday there was an extraordinary search, which began at 5 in the morning and saw the participation of Penitentiary Police personnel also coming from other regional prisons», explains Tiziana Guacci, secretary for Campania of the Autonomous Penitentiary Police Union.
«Three sections of the new department were searched. The search led to the discovery of drugs and about ten smartphones. During the search there were moments of tension, despite the large number of officers present: two inmates, in particular, not accepting the fact that their cell phone had been confiscated, sought physical confrontation with the staff, a situation only averted thanks to the professionalism of the latter». Guacci explains that «the tension lasted for the entire morning shift and only ended thanks to the commitment and stubbornness of the Department Commander and his deputies who managed to obtain the immediate transfer of the two inmates. A commendation to all the Police personnel on duty in Carinola who, despite the endless shift, managed, albeit with great difficulty, to contain the two rebels, ending the day with the operation of transferring them to another penitentiary, a transfer that took place at 5 pm».
