On the occasion of the «Holocaust Remembrance Day» on Saturday, January 27, the hotel institute «Le Streghe» organized the event «Let's meditate that this happened» in collaboration with Anpi Benevento.
The initiative involves, in particular, the teachers of Italian and History, Law and Economics, and Geography, coordinated by Maria Sara Pedicini, responsible for the Civic Education curriculum.
The support of Anpi is precious, which, with the president of the city section Erminio Fonzo, contributed to the identification of themes and materials, and above all shared and supported the choice to make students active protagonists of the initiative, so that with their research and reworking they build Memory and, prospectively, develop the necessary antibodies to say no to any totalitarian, discriminatory, freedom-killing ideology. Fonzo will also intervene on the centenary of the Matteotti crime, which falls on June 10.
So, starting from 9.30 on Saturday, in the main hall of the institute, the central headquarters of via Santa Colomba, students from classes III Sala B, IV Sala B, V Sala A, IV Enogastronomy A and C, V Pastry, V Tourist Reception, I A, I B, I D and I E, will take turns at the microphone on the themes «Where, how, when: the places of horror, the protagonists, the crossroads of history»; «The Shoah and children in the wind»; «The Shoah and women as winter frogs»; «Pain and pages: the Shoah in literature»; «There are those who say no: the Shoah and the Righteous Among the Nations».
