Homemade Firecracker Explodes in Dumpster, Injuring 39-Year-Old Bystander

A homemade firecracker explodes in a dumpster, injuring a 39-year-old passerby from the blast. The carabinieri of the Torre del Greco company intervened just before midnight on Corso Umberto I where, shortly before, unknown individuals had detonated a large firecracker, presumably homemade, near a garbage dumpster. A 39-year-old local was injured by the explosion. From the initial investigations by the military, it appears that the victim was throwing away the trash. The man was transferred by the 118 emergency service to the emergency room of the Maresca hospital where he was discharged with a diagnosis of 10 days, for the 39-year-old a 'lacerated contused wound to the right frontal region'. Investigations are ongoing by the carabinieri engaged in reconstructing the entire incident.
