An illegal dumpsite was discovered in Pratola Serra. The carabinieri have reported two individuals in their fifties for the illicit disposal of special waste. The military personnel from the Pratola Serra Station, together with colleagues from the Avellino Forestry Unit, have charged two local individuals, both in their fifties, believed to be responsible for the deposit and illicit disposal of special waste. The action of the law enforcement agencies demonstrates a concrete commitment to combating the phenomenon of uncontrolled abandonment of hazardous waste harmful to the environment and public health. The suspects are believed to have abandoned a significant quantity of special waste on the soil of an agricultural land, falling within a band of environmental and landscape protection, consisting mainly of packaging, cardboard from construction activities, electrical and electronic equipment, as well as plant waste. The area affected by the waste abandonment has been subjected to preventive seizure, in order to halt any further damage to the environment and allow the start of the cleanup and restoration operations.
