The infrastructure sector of the Province of Benevento has delivered to the contracting company of a specific contract the extraordinary maintenance works for four distinct sections of provincial roads of the territorial compartment 5, in the area of the Taburno. The president of the Province Nino Lombardi announced this in a note, specifying that the total amount of the works is about 120 thousand euros. The first intervention concerns the provincial 109 at km 11+150, in the municipality of Campoli Monte Taburno, where a wall made of local limestone blocks typical of the area will be restored in its entirety and completeness: the wall serves to contain the road and is located in a curve. In addition, the wall will be cleaned of roots, infiltrations, and other deteriorations. The second road section affected by the extraordinary maintenance is at km 7+200 on the provincial 141 in the territory of Cautano: here a slope near the hydraulic bridge will be made safe. In fact, following the collapse of the slope, there has been a significant washing away of the road embankment, with consequent dangers for the circulation of vehicles on the driving lane towards Cautano. A third intervention is planned on the same provincial 141, again in the territory of Cautano, but at km. 6+600 towards Frasso Telesino: the disengagement of some overhanging boulders that loom in the locality 'Vallone Chioccole' will be carried out. 'In February 2021 - they recall from the Rocca - numerous limestone boulders with a diameter even greater than one meter fell from the hill onto the provincial road, imposing, in addition to the removal from the road of the fallen rock, also to delimit the area near the rocky wall with a wooden fence and orange net with relative danger signage. In addition to the inspection and general cleaning of the affected section, specific disengagement of boulders for which the use of hydraulic jacks is necessary will be carried out: the interventions will allow the hill and therefore the same underlying artery to be made safe'.
A fourth intervention will finally concern the provincial 108, in the territory of Torrecuso, from km 0+500 to km 5+700 between the locality Scauzone and the intersection with the Sp 154: in this section the depressions and subsidence that have deformed not only the asphalt strip but also the same embankment will be fixed, for an area of about 3,000 square meters, with obvious dangers for road traffic.
