Infrastructure Updates and Challenges in Baselice: A Comprehensive Overview

The infrastructure sector manager of the Province, Angelo Carmine Giordano, provides some clarifications regarding a meeting requested by local administrators on the situation of provincial roads 54 and 55, which affect the territory of Baselice, as well as in relation to the "outcomes of the same conversation communicated to the press by the administrators." Regarding provincial road 54, the manager emphasizes how, within the framework of an institutional agreement with the Municipalities of Baselice and Foiano, restoration works on the road surface have been carried out in the last months in several places, while the procedure for the tender for works worth 500,000 euros for the refurbishment in other sections of the artery is being finalized. As for provincial road 55, he points out that extraordinary maintenance works for 150,000 euros are underway, aimed at securing and making at least the most deteriorated sections passable. "However, it should be noted that Sp 55 has a linear extension of about 20 km and, therefore, a more articulated and broader intervention is necessary. In this regard - he adds - it is important to highlight how the recent approval of the Procurement Code, which has innovated the field, has imposed the revision of the design regarding the interventions to be made on sp 55: in fact, we have moved from the previous 3 'steps' (feasibility, definitive, and executive) to the current 2 (feasibility and executive), which assume a different articulation of all related technical and administrative acts. As a result, the project previously drafted, in the context of institutional cooperation between the Municipality of Baselice and the Province for the refurbishment of provincial road 55 with an amount of about 5.8 million euros, is no longer to be considered valid and effective and, in fact, must be reviewed and reapproved. And it is precisely for this profound revision that the technicians are working on." These are the clarifications enclosed in a note to clarify the situation, which sees all institutional and technical actors engaged in resolving the objective problems of passability that are particularly reported on provincial road 55.
