Innovative Concert within a Theatrical Performance at Galleria Toledo

At the Sabile Theater of innovation at Galleria Toledo in the Spanish Quarters, on Wednesday, March 27 at 9 PM, there will be a show called "Metaconcert", with pianist Lorenzo Maria Aronne accompanied by Mattia Salemme. Classical music will be contrasted in the concert directed by Laura Angiulli. The idea of this performance was born from the youngest of the two artistic directors, Lorenzo Maria Aronne, a twenty-four-year-old pianist and composer, who starts from a question: is a concert within a theatrical performance possible? During the show, the concert itself is created, dissecting the creative processes that lead to the choice of repertoire, illustrating with historical anecdotes the selected pieces that, once performed, are also discarded during the show itself, thus arriving at the definitive idea of the evening. A concert that is a work in progress, therefore in continuous evolution. Aronne, joined on stage by another young artistic director Mattia Salemme, a twenty-six-year-old pianist, combines Wagnerian theater with comparative music inspired by Shakespeare, the metatheater of Pirandellian intonation with an experience lived while attending "The Gambler" by Fëdor Dostoevsky, without forgetting the authors who make up the repertoire: from Bach to Beethoven, passing through Stravinsky, Debussy, Liszt-Wagner, as well as a composition by Aronne himself. The goal is to investigate classical music from the most disparate angles and primarily unite it with theater, aiming to bring the spectator closer to music that always proves capable of great innovation and surprise, but also of lightness and entertainment.
