Introduction of the Municipal Designation of Origin (De.C.O.) in Montecorvino Rovella

It was presented on Sunday morning, at the former Conservatory of Santa Sofia, the regulation for the establishment of the Municipal Designation of Origin (De.C.O.). The De.C.O. was conceived to enhance and protect the traditional local agri-food and artisan activities of Montecorvino Rovella, promoting the image of the territory and its typical productions. Specifically, it provides for the establishment of a De.C.O. register for products that meet specific criteria of typicality and connection with the territory as well as the realization of a series of initiatives for the promotion of De.C.O. products and the valorization of local traditions. Many entrepreneurs from the territory participated and the regional councilor Andrea Volpe, who confirmed the maximum support of the Campania Region for initiatives of this kind. "This," explained the mayor, Martino D'Onofrio, and the councilor delegated to Typical Products, Pino Farabella, "is an opportunity for growth for the territory. Through the promotion and valorization of our food, artisanal, and traditional products, we have the opportunity to make our excellences even more unique. For this reason, we thought of a brand that will distinguish and characterize them. We can say it: today the Made in Montecorvino Rovella was born."
