Itaca Leads Italy into the Future of Innovative Education in Europe

Together with Germany, Denmark, and France, the startup Itaca by Fmts Group positions Italy in Europe when it comes to innovative teaching. The challenge launched a year ago with the presentation of the newborn reality from Campania (based in Pontecagnano Faiano), which began its journey by creating the first virtual reality simulator for chef training, has been won. As a pioneer of immersive training, using vr/ar visors and mixed reality simulators for both schools and businesses, Itaca continues its study on gamification to fascinate and engage young people in a learning by doing path that on one hand aims to increase the speed of learning and on the other to promote the consolidation of knowledge. In almost a year of work, a network of 40 schools has been built across the national territory, with the use of 1000 visors and the involvement of 3200 students and 124 teachers. The invitation from Meta to present to the Italian institutional community in Brussels the results achieved so far has represented an important milestone, the day after the official pitch for the Global Futures of Bett Uk 2024. 'The debate organized by Ambassador Stefano Verrecchia, deputy permanent representative of Italy to the European Union, and by Marco Pancini, director of Meta for EU affairs Meta Italia,' explains Imma Stizzo, director of Itaca, 'allowed us to understand what institutional stakeholders expect and to therefore think about the potential and advantages of the new training tools.' With Itaca, schools can use virtual laboratories for natural sciences, mechanics, electronics, and cooking, not to mention literature and art, just to name the most requested ones; and then there is the study of physics that finds in the rules of the game of basketball its most unsuspected allies. And starting from the experiences already lived, the Itaca team is working to develop new software tailored for the latest generation devices already available and able to combine the needs of the educational plans with the use of artificial intelligence.
