Aldo Cazzullo, deputy director of “Il Corriere della Sera” and author of the television program “Una giornata particolare” has won the Ischia Award as journalist of the year. Other recognitions went to Monica Giandotti (Linea notte Tg3) and to Elena Pero for her tennis reports on Sky Sport.

The jury, chaired by Giulio Anselmi and composed of Alessandro Barbano, Giuseppe De Bellis, Francesco De Core, Vincenzo D’ Errico, Luciano Fontana, Carlo Gambalonga, Giovanni Grasso, Mario Orfeo, Agnese Pini, Beniamino Quintieri, and Fabio Tamburini, made the decision.

The International Award went instead to Amy Khazim of the Financial Times who currently covers the Italian economy, as well as environmental and social challenges. She has long been the South Asia bureau chief, and has won numerous awards in the past, including the Human Right Press Awards.

This year, the Ischia Award Foundation reintroduced the section dedicated to news agencies, due to the increasingly central role they play in the national and international information landscape. The award went to Radiocor which just celebrated 70 years of activity in economic and financial information, closing a multi-year agreement with Dow Jones and significantly increasing the supply of news and multimedia services.

The award ceremony will be held in Lacco Ameno on June 28 and 29. The award is sponsored by the Campania Region, Siae with the contribution of the Istituto di credito sportivo, Aci, Menarini, Mundys, and the Unipol group.
